When Sammy first came into rescue, he was a pitiful sight. He had almost no fur and his skin was dry and flaky. He was extremely thin and his teeth were so covered in tartar the vet couldnt even estimate his age. After a thorough exam, the vet pronounced Sammy undernourished, flea-bitten, and neglected, but otherwise healthy. Sam is the picture of good health these days. His weight is up, his skin and coat have improved, and his teeth are clean. He has very good manners, indoors and out. He comes, sits, waits, and walks well on lead. He is very good for grooming and nail-trimming. He loves to be near people, and does well with other dogs, cats, and even birds. To apply to adopt Sam, please visit www.sheltierescue-ga.org.
