Ciarra is a purebred mahogany Sable female puppy. She came into rescue at 7 weeks with a broken leg and severe anemia. She is now 15 weeks old. She is much smaller that the standard sheltie puppy. She should be about 12 inches tall and 10-12 lbs full grown. As you can see, she is a beautiful girl. Her problems started in a puppy mill where she was sold at 5 weeks old. Much too young to be taken from her mother and littermates. She subsequently had her leg broken 2 weeks into her new home when it was stepped on by a much larger dog in the home. She was surrendered to rescue because the new family could not afford mounting vet bills. Ciarra was in a leg cast for 6 weeks. This stunted some muscle growth in her rear, right leg. She is learning to use her leg and we are hoping for muscle regrowth that will allow her to keep her leg. We are currently working with a specialist. Should Ciarra lose her leg, she will probably never know it. She is very young and will adapt well. She is a normal little puppy with lots of energy. She is spunky, healthy, and smart. She is fully trained to a potty pad and never misses!! We are very proud of her. Due to her size and special needs, she will only go to a home with one other like-size companion and no small children. She is a true joy to have around. She can be food aggressive and will need to learn manners in this area. If you think you can provide Ciarra with the loving and caring home she so deserves, please complete an application.
