Duke is a 5-7 year old sable and white male from a shelter. He is 17 inches tall and weighs a whopping 48 pounds. He is very overweight but doing well on his new diet. He is crate trained and housebroken and a very sweet boy. He tolerates the other dogs well and seems very happy to be here. He is very smart. He is not very mobile at this time due to his weight and lack of exercise. He walks very slowly and stiffly. He can do 3-4 stairs at a time but will not climb the multiple stairs out back. He can get out of a 3-4 foot fence which is rather surprising I believe he is climbing over. Once he gets up and moving he really gets around rather well he has taken to following my husband around the front yard. We have run extra blood work on him and had his hips checked. I believe his mobility and general health and attitude will improve with weight loss. He does not need a fence and would probably not make a very good agility dog. Obedience class would not be out of the question after shedding another 10 pounds or so. He does not walk very well on lead but again that should improve also. His adoption fee is $200.00. Pictures will be posted soon.
