Macey was turned in to us by a wonderful veterinarian who has developed serious heart problems at a young age and can no longer take care of her. Mercy is spayed, up to date on everything, HW-. She hasn't had a seizure since starting the phenobarb and her current supply will go with her when she is adopted. Until she met up with the vet, Maceys life has been a sad story of bad breeding and bad ownership from the word go. Macey's former owners purchased her from a pet store at a mall on the southside of Atlanta. They received a considerable discount because she had been there for four months and had not sold. The former owners brought her to the vet to be euthanized after she had several petite mal seizures. The vet asked permission to treat her and hopefully find her a new home. For the past eight months she has been living with the vet where she sleeps in the bed. The vet describes her as: "Macey is extremely affectionate and craves all the attention she can get. She is a high drive dog who runs around the house and yard and barks excitedly. She would be a great agility dog. She is motivated to please but just cannot be sedate for long. Her former owners couldn't stand her energy or the seizures they witnessed, so they tied her to a dog house in the yard 24/7. I would never let her go (although I only took her to find her a new home) if I didn't have health problems and way too many former patients still living with me. Macey needs a healthy active owner with time and energy to devote just to her. She is really a love. Two of my children ages 10 and 12 gave her a bath on her first day in foster care. She was In a strange place and didnt know any of us and she tolerated it extremely well. If you are interested in Macey, please complete an online application. Her adoption fee is $200
