Bart was surrendered to a county Animal Control facility by a family that purchased him from Petland. These pictures were taken before Bart could be groomed. The hair is sticking up all over the place because it is matted to the skin. We were unable to save the coat and discovered an imbedded collar around his throat once we got down deep enough into the hair. At intake, Bart seems very bewildered as if he isn't really sure what is expected of him. He has just turned one year old and has lived his entire life to this point in a backyard. Now that he has been shaved he has become very swishy. He dances around like he has suddenly discovered that life is good. He still ducks everytime you go to pet him as if he isn't sure if you will hurt him or not. Bart will take a lot of love and consideration from his adopter but there should be great rewards. We are working on his housebreaking. He is so young he doesn't lift his leg yet. Bart is up-to-date on shots, heartworm and fecal negative, neutered, on flea prevention and microchipped. Bart's adoption fee is $250. To start the adoption process visit www.sheltierescue-ga.org and fill out the online adoption application.
