Hi. My name is Biscuit. and if you are looking for an active, loving, inquisitive, busy girlIm the one for you! I'm about two years old now, weigh just under 30 pounds. I'm supposedly a Sheltie / Chow Chow mix, or at least that's what my former owner told the shelter when they left me there to die from heartworms. My foster families have all agreed, however, that I have more of a Border Collie personality (very driven & job oriented) than Sheltie (shy & reserved), so we aren't sure what I am! Since being rescued, I've been treated and have recovered nicely. I still need to gain some weight back, but I LOVE food, so it shouldn't be too hard to get me back to where I'm supposed to be. I do have a thyroid problem, but the doc put me on very inexpensive medication to keep it under control.

My foster mom is currently working with me on learning "sit" and "wait" in order to get attention, though sometimes I still forget and will put my paws above her waist to get her attention. With more practice, I will make a good obedience or agility dog as I really like pleasing my people, but for now, I probably would not do well with small children I might knock over. If you meet me, you will fall in love with me. I'm just so darned cute.

Even though I do not have the Chow spotted-tongue, Im not the shy Sheltie-type and I need a job to keep me busy; otherwise I get bored. My way of relieving the boredom is to go on a walkabout, if I can figure out how to get under or over the fence. I absolutely MUST have a secure fence, and a 6-foot privacy fence with no openings on the bottom would be the ideal. I need to live with a family that understands my strong desire to go wandering and will keep me occupied. I also have a somewhat pronounced prey drive and will chase anything that runs, including small dogs and cats. My foster mom adores me, as does most everyone I meet, but they all have other dogs, and I sometimes feel left out. My preference is to be an only, spoiled dog, but if you do have other dogs, I sure hope it's a big, strapping boy, as I don't like to have competition for being the alpha female. I'm so lovable, it is easy to want to spoil me rotten. I am housebroken, will stand for brushing, and love riding in the car. I am crate trained, though since I'm not a fan of confinement, leaving me in the crate for long periods of time really hurts my feelings and I'll cry until you let me out. I am spayed, up-to-date on my shots, heartworm and flea preventative, heartworm and fecal negative and am microchipped. My adoption fee is $275. (lw)

Biscuit may finally have found a home after fourteen months in foster care. Let's hope it goes through!
