NO LONGER AVAILABLE - Abby is a five year old bi-black spayed female Sheltie. She loves to hang out with her humans, is a cuddler, but will sleep on her doggie bed at night. Although she is really good with older kids, she does not get along with other dogs except on the leash walking. On the leash she meets and greets all other dogs without a problem. We feel Abby would do best in a single dog household where she can be the center of attention. She has been cat tested and is fine with them. She's housebroken and crate trained. She was not well socialized as a puppy, nor was she previously taught any manners. Her foster parents are working on both of these and say she is making good progress. She is crazy about food. She must be crated when her family is eating to keep the peace. Her fancy haircut was done at the shelter before we got her, because her coat was in such miserable condition. Now she has a lovely coat. Abby likes to rough house and has a more than moderate herding instinct, Abby needs to be in a Sheltie-savvy home that has no children under the age of 12. Our preferred home for Abby would be with an older couple or single person. Abby is up-to-date on her shots, heartworm, and flea preventative, heartworm and fecal negative, and is micro chipped. Her adoption fee is $275.00. (EE)
