Jake The Money Pit was found stray with an awful case of hookworms. He had to have his tail amputated due to a severe injury and infection. The vet was able to neuter him while he was under the anesthesia but he will still need a dental after he recovers from heartworm treatment. We have spent over $600 on him so far and will probably need to invest another $200 or so. Jake is a fantastically sweet old snuggle bunny who is worth every penny and more. He is at least 10 years old and possibly older. The effect of poor nutrition and hookworms have severely damaged his coat. However a full blood panel shows that his internal organs are still functioning well. Jake is looking for a very special person or family who want his constant attention. He is heartbroken to have to sit in the crate away from people while recovering from his first heartworm treatment. He wants to be near people. He will not be ready to adopt until the end of June. We would be happy to consider someone as a permanant foster home if a volunteer with a great heart comes along. Jake's adoption fee is $100.
