Trixie is a cute tiny thing full of the berries. I call her the scurry baby, because she scurries here and there usually with a toy in her mouth. In her quiet moments she is just a sweet as can be, listens well and that face of her’s looking up at you is precious.
Trixie needs a family that will be willing to do obedience training with her. She has been through agility classes and loved it, but she has a strong herding instinct and can get easily distracted or stimulated at inappropriate times. Obedience training will help her concentrate and help her feel more confident and overcome some of her fears. Right now she does not feel comfortable in a yard without a leash on (she will run back to the house in a second). UPDATE ON THIS!!! She will now go down the steps into the yard and go to her spot without a leash. Foster mom has to be in the yard, but this is a big step and we are so PROUD of her!
Homes with children under the age of 12 would not be appropriate for Trixie at this time.
She is housebroken to the extent she is given many bathroom breaks on lead, and her person makes sure she finishes all her business before allowing her back in the house! She was diagnosed and treated for Bladder Stones so needs to stay on specific foods and treats for the rest of her life to keep that condition under control.
She does very well in a crate and perfers to sleep and eat in one.
Age: 5 Height 14.5 inches Weight 21 pounds
Trixie has been spayed. She is up-to-date on shots and heartworm preventive, and has recently been professionally groomed (for the first time). Her adoption fee is $350.
