*** FENCED YARD (Above-Ground Barrier-Type Material) and ANOTHER DOG IN FAMILY - BOTH REQUIRED ***
Sila is a beautiful, 4-year-old girl looking for her forever home.
She is skittish, but will come to you on her own when she wants to be rubbed.
She would do best in a home with another Sheltie, or a mellow but playful dog. Another dog is a requirement, as well as a fenced yard of an above-ground, barrier-type material .
Sila will usually follow the other dogs' lead to learn the routine of the home.
She is crated-trained, and house-broken and she doesn't jump on the furniture.
Sila walks well on a leash, but is very curious of new smells.
You won’t get a workout walking with her, but if you like leisurely strolls with some pit stops, then she’s your girl.
The trickiest part is getting her to come to you to put on the harness.
She sleeps in the crate at night, although her foster mom would like to see her graduate from that and be welcomed to sleep where she pleases.
She gives lots of good morning barks to say hello as she goes outside to do her business.
Sila has opened up a lot in the past few weeks, but she still needs to learn to trust.
She will do fine and become more confident once she stays in a routine with someone and become comfortable.
She gets lots of rubs and hugs in her foster home, which will do much to help her gain confidence with her humans.
Her foster parents
work from home, so Sila gets lots of loving attention and that has been very helpful.
She needs to adopted by a Sheltie-savvy person who will give her space and time to adjust.
She has been around a calm 7-year-old girl and has done just fine.
Since she is skittish, she also needs a quieter, calmer environment, so a boisterous encironment will not be considered.
Sila is a hoarder and likes to take our blankets off of the couch and on the floor with her.
Sometimes she does this with toys too.
She doesn’t know how to sit, yet, nor does she know any basic commands, but her foster mom is working on it.
Overall, despite her little quirks, she is a girl who wants to be loved and is waiting for that perfect person to find her.
Height 19 inches, Weight 27 pounds, DOB 01/24/11
Sila has been spayed. She is up-to-date on shots and heartworm preventive, and has recently been groomed. Her adoption fee is $325.
