Rocky, #1307
11.7 lbs.
9-10 Months Old
Sheltie/Pom Mix

FENCED YARD AND ANOTHER VERY PLAYFUL DOG IN HOME REQUIRED!  There really aren't enough words to describe how adorable this little Rocky is.  He is only 9-10 months-old and was pulled from a metro-Atlanta shelter a little over nine-weeks-ago. He was then immediately transported to our orthopedic surgeon for repair of his badly-broken left hind-leg.  Rocky endured nine weeks of pins and staples in that leg, along with the infamous "cone" around his neck/head, but, even then, his energy level was high.  He is now perfectly healed and living a normal, happy and playful life with other dogs and cats.  He plays like crazy with his foster brother, Charlie (also available for adoption), and with his very young foster sister.  He is well-adjusted and loving.  It is difficult not scoop him up and get those puppy kisses!!

Rocky absolutely has to have another playful dog in his future home, as well as a fenced-in yard (underground fences are NOT acceptable).  He is crate-trained, but working on house-training, since he's not been given free-reign until now.  He IS crated at night and when his foster parents are gone, since he is very much in the chewing stage.  Rocky is leash-trained, but he is strong and does pull a bit, even with a harness.  We recommend the harness instead of  a Martingale, choke, or any other type of collar, to correct that pulling behavior.  He loves to go for rides, although he is crated in his foster mom's car.  He will jump right in the back, but hasn't been trusted to ride loose.  Rocky is being fed Science Diet c/d, to control crystals that were rampant in an early urinalysis.  The crystals are virtually gone, but his vet has recommended that c/d be his food of choice for sometime to come.  Please don't let that be a deterrent in your thinking about meeting and adopting this precious little boy.  He is a pocket pup who will steal your heart!!

Rocky is neutered, microchipped, current on all vaccinations and on Sentinel, as well as Nexgard.  He has just been groomed and he is a very good subject. He enjoys lying on his foster mom's lap for brushing, too.  Rocky's adoption fee is $425.
