Dory is an incredibly sweet and loving 9-year-old tri-colored Sheltie. She wants nothing
more than to be petted and to hang out with you. She enjoys being brushed and would benefit nicely
from weekly brushing. She allows her foster mom to brush her and trim her nails, which is a major
plus. Her groomer says she is just the best; very patient and accepting of whatever her groomer
needs to do. She has some hearing and vision loss, but neither stops this little girl. She responds
well to hand clapping and body language/hand signals. Dory is not fond of being picked up and
she
thinks
she can jump in the car by herself. She rides well in the car and usually goes to sleep,
whether in a crate or just on the back seat. Dory walks well on a leash and prefers to walk on your left
side. She navigates stairs slowly, but she does navigate them and likes her human to walk beside
her when going down.
When she first arrived at her foster home, her foster mom would have to watch her fingers when
giving Dory a treat. She has improved greatly and now gently takes a treat. Dory would be OK as an
only dog, or with another dog or two. She will chase the cat when she sees it moving, but doesn’t
show any aggression. There have been no accidents in her foster home, but she is kept on a
schedule and goes potty as soon as she is let out. Dory has mastered the “sad eyed” look and uses
it shamelessly. She truly is a little charmer.
Dory has had heartworm treatment and came through it with flying colors. She is now
heartworm
negative
and loving life.
Height 16 inches, Weight 30 pounds
Dory has been spayed. She is microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, flea and heartworm preventive, and has recently been groomed. Her adoption fee is $275.
